AKiSA means assist build/develop, it is an African word used by the Tsonga people. AKiSA is derived from the root word "aka" which means build/develop.
As the name states this firm was found on the principle of participation in the collective goal of building for development. As architects we see our role being key in achieving sustainable development for human settlement.
Since the year 2005 June AKiSA Architects has been contributing to the delivery of infrastructure, particularly focused on building backlog in realigning services to where the need is greatest in South Africa.
